Formula 1 Season 2025: Latest Odds & Betting Guide

It has been a dominating Formula One (F1) campaign for the McLaren team, but the Canadia Grand Prix threw a curveball at their world title challenge.

Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are still leading the way despite allowing the chasing pack to cut the deficit at the top of the F1 standings.

Piastri claimed fourth place while Norris did not finish. The result left the Australian 22 points clear of his teammate heading into the next race in Austria.

Reigning champion Max Verstappen is 21 points adrift of Norris in third place and will fancy his chances of enhancing his excellent record at the Red Bull Ring.

He beat Alain Prost's record of three wins between 1983 & 1986 when he recorded his fourth win at the circuit two years ago.

Read on as we look at the latest betting odds for the driver’s championship, before assessing how things are likely to unfold at the Austrian GP.

Austrian Grand Prix Betting Preview

The McLaren pair have been the bookmakers’ favourites ahead of every race this season, and the betting market for Austria paints a familiar picture.

Piastri tops the market at odds of 2.62. However, Norris could be the value bet at 3.25 to reduce the deficit at the top of the standings.

Verstappen will welcome the return to Austria, and many punters will view his 4.33 odds of winning as enticing given his excellent record at the Red Bull Ring.

George Russell, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will also be in the mix, but a wildcard option who could surprise many people is New Zealand’s Liam Lawson.

Lawson hasn’t given his fans in New Zealand much to cheer about during a difficult campaign, but the Kiwi betting community will keep faith with him.

Punters looking value for their money on the best first deposit bonus sports betting platforms may consider Lawson to be worth chancing in the ‘top ten finish’ market.

Lawson appeared to be on the right track after finishing eighth in Monaco and 11th in Canada, before a power unit issue forced him out of the Canadian GP.

However, if the Racing Bulls team can provide Lawson with a reliable car in Austria, securing a top 10 finish is undoubtedly an achievable aim for him.

While Lawson will be keen to make his mark at the Red Bull Ring, the primary focus for F1 fans will be the unfolding title battle between Piastri and Norris.

Before the start of the season, many people bet on Norris to knock Verstappen off his perch. He battled Verstappen for the crown last term and went into 2025 as the favourite for the drivers’ title.

The 25-year-old made the perfect start by winning the curtain raiser in Melbourne, but he has struggled to maintain consistency since then.

He has made several high-profile mistakes and repeatedly buckled under pressure in qualifying and races, so it is no surprise that the betting markets have shifted in favour of his teammate.

Barring the surprise outcome in Canada, Piastri has almost been error-free. He has won five out of 10 races and has shown plenty of determination heading into the halfway point of the season.

Piastri has emerged as the team’s leading driver after taking advantage of McLaren’s early dominance to stake his own claim to the world championship.

If he emerges victorious in Canada, he could be tough to stop in his quest to become the first Australian to win the F1 world title since Alan Jones in 1980.
